Standalone reinforced-concrete section analysis

COSA

Transparent N–My–Mz verification for sections that do not fit a standard catalogue.

COSA reinforced-concrete section analysis workspace

INDEPENDENT BY DESIGN

One focused workspace from geometry to capacity.

Create parametric sections or import arbitrary DXF geometry, define reinforcement and materials, apply axial force and biaxial bending, and review SLS and ULS results without depending on a global-analysis package.

WORKFLOW

A section check you can follow from input to output.

  1. 01

    Build the section

Use five parametric builders or import validated closed DXF geometry with openings.

  2. 02

    Define the model

Set reinforcement, materials, design factors and computational controls.

  3. 03

    Apply actions

Check one N–My–Mz case or import a complete batch.

  4. 04

    Review behaviour

Inspect strains, stresses, equilibrium, crack width and radial efficiency.

  5. 05

    Explore capacity

Review 2D intersections or the interactive 3D resistance envelope.

  6. 06

    Export the work

Produce Word, Excel, CSV and parametric DXF outputs.

01 / GEOMETRY

Standard where useful. Arbitrary where necessary.

Parametric builders accelerate common shapes; validated DXF import handles project-specific boundaries, openings and reinforcement layouts.

  • Rectangle, circle, T, box and pipe builders
  • Arbitrary closed DXF boundaries and openings
  • Editable reinforcement layers
  • Geometry and layer-name validation
COSA — Standard where useful. Arbitrary where necessary.

02 / VERIFICATION

See the mechanics, not only the verdict.

Actions, factors, strains, stresses, equilibrium and numerical results remain visible so sensitive cases can be understood and refined.

  • SLS strain compatibility and equilibrium
  • Crack-width assessment
  • ULS resistance envelopes
  • Radial demand-to-capacity efficiency
COSA — See the mechanics, not only the verdict.

03 / CAPACITY

Interrogate the full resistance envelope.

Move between familiar plane intersections and an interactive 3D view of the sampled N–My–Mz envelope.

  • N–My and N–Mz intersections
  • My–Mz intersections at selected axial force
  • Interactive 3D capacity envelope
  • CSV and Excel capacity export
COSA — Interrogate the full resistance envelope.

04 / BATCH & OUTPUTS

From one governing case to a full action set.

Run individual checks or large My–Mz–N batches. Portable projects retain geometry, reinforcement, materials and calculation settings.

  • Multiple independent sections per project
  • Portable project files
  • Word calculation reports
  • Excel batch results
COSA — From one governing case to a full action set.

FAQ

Before you subscribe.

Does COSA require SAP2000?

No. COSA is independent desktop software and does not require SAP2000 or another global-analysis package.

Can COSA analyse arbitrary geometry?

Yes. It imports validated closed DXF outer boundaries, openings and reinforcement layers, alongside five parametric builders.

Are SLS and ULS included?

Yes. The current scope covers N–My–Mz SLS equilibrium, strain compatibility and crack width, plus ULS envelopes and radial efficiency.

Can I process multiple load combinations?

Yes. COSA supports individual cases and batch analysis with Word and Excel outputs.

How is the licence activated?

Gumroad delivers the licence key. Once validated, it is cached locally for normal use.

Does COSA replace engineering review?

No. Inputs, sign conventions, factors, detailing requirements and results must be independently reviewed by a qualified engineer.
